When someone says "I listen to all kinds of music"
They usually mean five kinds of rock plus 80s pop.
Usually this statement is qualified by 'Everything but country' which turns out to be a lie when you have to break the news that Shania and the Dixie Chicks are still considered country. Then you have to tell them that John Mayer doesn't represent the cutting edge of blues, nor does Fall Out Boy represent punk, nor does Nelly represent R&B and all you're really left with is 80's pop, with some hard rock ballads like Mr. Big plus whatever Star 98.7 happens to be pumping.

You're such a music snob.
John Mayer is a modern day Howlin' Wolf.
